finally succeeded in downloading moviestar player to allow me to view movies from websites and moviestar maker to remake qt movies for streaming for embedding into sites. also received mail from david rokeby. "Hi komninos, I would be very interested in seeing your cdrom. It sounds very interesting. I haven't done anything like liquid language in many years, but it is always in my mind to do something more. I am working on this "Giver of Names" piece which is sort of the ultimate interactive poetry system. You place objects in front of it, and it constructs metaphors based on what it sees and speaks them out loud. The metaphors are chosen through interactions of ideas in a large interconnected knowledge base. This piece will take a long time before it is finished but it has lead me to investigate a lot of very interesting things. I decided not to make Liquid Language interactive. It was originally interactive, but I found that tha act of interacting took away from the experience of having the text wash over you. Though almost all of the work I have ever done has been interactive, in this case, I decided to remove the interaction. David Rokeby" jon reeves replied to my email saying he was keen to co-operate.
