thursday, 9/5/96

had booked e214 for a rehearsal for next thursday's performance.

checked out the 'smart' lecture theatre e214 in which i will be presenting
 my research seminar on cyberpoetry.
a touch screen computer allows you to control almost everything from
behind the desk, video, audio, lights, computer(ibm).
slight modifications required for staging of performance:
1. use over head projector instead of desk lamp.
2. don't leave the stage after '5 cyberpoems', drop down behind the
desk, change the introduction to "the author is dead, here are five poems
 that perform themselves"
3. crawl out from behind the desk for 'it's a boy', circle desk then stand
and read script.
4. step up onto desktop for 'childhood in richmond'.
5. up against concrete wall beside screen for 'tanks'.
6. move ohp back as far as it will go and move out in front of desk for
'black coffee nights', play theaudience.
7. go up to projection room, whilst 'cyberpoetry' piece is on.
8. descend stairs playing saz and position myself in front of ohp, turn
it on, play 'hiroshima'.
9. turn ohp off, exit to projection room,
"the last three pieces are dedicated to roland barthes".
10. return to centre stage after 'writerspeak', 'reality' and 'helen
who?'
turn on lights , full.

then went and wrote up entry directly into html, and loaded other journal
entries i had in hypercard.
