downloaded gifbuilder, clip to gif and gif.loop script from the internet and printed out tutorial manual for embedding gifs.

chase:a poemcyber

spoke to andrew brown's music class on the use of sound in multimedia, in the production of the cyberpoetry and in the authoring of the cd-rom, performed some sound poems and then tried to show how i'd removed myself from the performance by using animations and computer voices. i was a little uncomfortable with the technology, sitting at a computer trying to navigate to relevant parts whilst speaking to the students was difficult and strenuous. had some initial difficulty getting sound to work properly on the system in the seminar room, not the fault of my cd-rom but of the setup, someone had wrongly configured the analog equipment attached to the computer. michael whelan said he'd like to get some collaborations happening with musicians composing soundtracks for some of my cyberpoems. worked further on authoring my web page. worked till 4.30 a.m. on converting my quicktime cyberpoems into gif. animations. it didn't seem to work with the methods outlined so i tried first saving my movies in movieplayer and then converting them to gif. with gifbuilder, which worked well. i made an animation of my face talking from the review video, a gif. of the poem chase, and one of a section of the poem drugs. i then embedded the gif. movies into html pages.
