the big day, glenti day, 15,000 people in the park, 500kg of octopus tenderised in cement mixers, 500kg of flour to make honey puffs, 1500kg of souvlaki and a lot of beer retsina and ouzo. i had three fifteen minute performances at 12.15, 2.30, 3.55 and the major performance at 7.30. the 45 minute performance consisted of three parts, the first was me dialoging with the video in it's a boy, childhood in richmond, the tanks, kastellorizo. the second i read a selection of poems like baby rap, paranoid, greatest artlovers by far, ela mimi ela, superwog, copsmate. appliances, a more urban bracket. and the last was cyberpoems performing themselves, drugs, kev the red, textscapes, one of those days, high st, black coffee nights, vicious circles, etc. i was stressed to the max for this performance as the projector did not arrive till ten minutes before i went on, and then i was miked at a place wehere i could not see the screen so that i could not take my visual cues and had to things by the stop watch, which is duifficult and caused some out of synch performances, luckily the audience was accepting and layed back, and from all reports the newness of it all carried it through.
