Year of Publication Publications Evidence Significance
1984  Old Friends/New Faces, 12 inch l.p., Talunga Records,    Easter, 1984, The 18th National Folk Festival in Canberra, was the first Folk Festival I had attended. In Melbourne, the folk music venues had been the first places I tried to get work as a performance poet, believing they would be a good listening audience, and they were. At the festival I  tried to get on to as many 'open stages' as I could and I had booked in advance to attend the poet's dinner. Whilst the verse was nearly all of the rhyming bush ballad style, they seemed to relate well to my urban contemporary folk poetry, and I was asked to perform at the final concert with the headline acts. My performance was selected for the Vinyl LP recording of the Festival, 'Old Friends, New Faces'. This was confirmation of my belief that poetry had a wider appeal than the literary community. The article in Greenbark and Stringyhide was also acknowledgement that mine was an Australian voice, even if it had a Greek background.   PA01 PRINT
